Welcome Home Daddy

It's been almost a week, but Matt is home. He had a great trip and came back a little different. He stayed an extra 3 days but came back with a WONDERFUL tattoo.

It is a tattoo of a shark. Matt LOVES sharks and we both LOVE the ocean. At the top of the shark is a cross representing God as the head of Matt's life. Then he has my initials and the kid's initials. The shark also has a blue eye because the kids and I have blue eyes.

Day 4 of Daddy Being Gone

It has been an unbelievably long 4 days. The days go by fast, but it really feels like Matt has been gone forever. Thankfully (thank you, God) the kids have been great and it is very evident that my strength comes from the Lord!! The patience I have has been divine. I have to say though, while the time with Matt gone has been hard, it has made me love him anew. I'm excited and glad for Matt to be out there shooting this movie. I was a little bummed that Matt was going to be right in the middle of the action and right in the midst of amazing things that God is doing on the road trip. But I have to say, the amount of peace in our household, the level of energy that I have, the awesome behavior from the kids...all I can say is that I am having my own miracles here at home. I am experiencing God on miraculous levels here. I love it because I believe this is God's way of opening the door for Matt to feel comfortable staying with the crew longer than he originally planned. God is so good!!! I am experiencing God on new and amazing levels. I love my God, I love my husband, and I love my kids!! Thank you Lord. Your blessing are abundant.

And he's off....

I am sitting here reflecting on my life with my husband over the last 7 years and I amazed at how far we have come. Like most, we started out with not much and over the years have managed to scrape together a pretty amazing life. However, this posting isn't about US. It's about Matt.

My husband has sacrificed for his family. He has set aside his passions in the pursuit of providing for the kids and me; so I can be a stay at home mom. He works his loan business with dedication and commitment, taking the utmost care of his clients. He is SO good at what he does. But he does it because he has to, not because it drives him. Someday I will journal about the path that led Matt to where he is right now. Believe it or not, it starts with me in 5th grade and the after school daycare director...a guy by the name of Hector Marquez. There are so many of you who have had a hand in the the direction of Matt's path as well. I am honored to have a front row view and am treasuring all the memories and people over the years as I sit here and reflect.

And now, Matt is chasing his dreams. I am so proud of him and really just in awe of the talents God has given him. I can't wait for all of you to see him in action. I will do my best to keep you all updated with how all of this effects our family. But for the movie and crew as a whole, please check NOPARKINGTHEMOVIE.com for all the latest news.

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and Lincoln rolled over for the first time. Here is a card I made for her celebrating both occasions.

Teething & Rolling

Lincoln rolled over today. He's been getting himself from his back to his side and today he actually got himself all the way over to his tummy and then back to his back again in reverse. So it's not a full 360 roll. It's a 180 and then back the way he came.

Plus drooling, fever, chewing, runny nose, liquid booty...all sounds like teething to me. Can't feel anything but he has all the signs. However, even teething doesn't make him cry. He's such a happy little guy ALL the time.

There he goes

Rolling back

And over again

Seems to deal with the teething by sucking
on his fingers. Too cute!!

Let The Summer Begin

Our summer has officially started with the beginning of Abby's swim lessons. And this year Abby is in the water without her parents. However, she did have her BFF Taylor right by her side. Taylor's mom Nikki and I have been talking to the girls for a few months now about swimmng lessons. I filled up the little plastic pool and let the girl toddle around in it to get them use to being in the water. Having taken swimming lessons last year, Abby knew what to expect. Taylor on the other hand thought she was coming swimming over at our house in the baby pool. So she was a bit overwhelmed when we got to the big public pool with ALL the people. But all things considered she did great. Abby on the other hand...my little fish...LOVED every minute of her lesson. So today was the first of 8 days of swim lessons and all in all, this is a great way to start the summer and a fun memory for Abby and her BFF Taylor.

Silver Screen or BUST

So Matt is assisting in making a movie and the buzz is very hot in our household. The movie is called "No Parking" and those of us involved are quite excited...even if my role is that of supporting my husband's creative passion. The vast majority of the cast and crew embark on a 15 day road trip tomorrow to film most of the movie. God is so good and He has big plans for this movie and The Rockwell's are so honored to play a role in it!!

Check out the official movie website by clicking NO PARKING for the latest updates on the movie, to see where the team is on their road trip and to find out how God is moving!!
